Tensions in the Middle East have escalated sharply after Kuwait reported intercepting hostile drones that it says were launched toward key facilities in the country.
According to Kuwait’s military, its air defense systems detected and destroyed multiple drones inside the country’s airspace before they reached their intended targets. Officials described the incident as an Iranian attack on several vital installations, though further details have not yet been released.
Meanwhile, Iran has issued a strong warning following recent US actions in the region. The commander of Iran’s highest joint military command said the situation could spiral into a much larger conflict, cautioning neighboring countries that they risk being “consumed by the flames of war” if tensions continue to rise.
In another development, a commercial oil tanker was struck by an unidentified projectile about 11 nautical miles (around 20 kilometers) northeast of Limah, Oman. Authorities are investigating the incident, and no group has claimed responsibility so far.
Adding to concerns over regional security, Yemen’s Houthi movement claimed it forced eight Saudi-linked ships to change their routes. The group did not specify when the incident took place or provide further details.
